iOS 5.0. Never lose your data from your devices again, and forget the arduous iTunes Sync button forever!!
The big change in this iOS release is #iCloud, known previously as MobileMe. As a user of MobileMe for a few years I’m very happy this has been done, so all can share in their previously charged for services. iCloud basically keeps everything up ‘in the cloud’ ie ‘on the internet’, therefore giving you some neat features.
1. Storage: Don’t loose your purchases, apps, photo’s, music, contacts, calander details again!!!!
a. 5GB for FREE! Wow that’s a lot of free space
b. 10GB for $20/year
c. 20GB for $40/year
d. 50GB for $100/year
2. Simple Synchronisation between devices. Keep your iphone, ipad and ipod’s synchronised with each other and your computers
Synchronisation is what got me on board with MobileMe for a fee. Now that it is free get on board, it makes life so easy, it all synchronises automatically.
Example: Add a contact on your phone, and bang, it’s added to your other devices, and for me that means in my outlook calendar. Add an important meeting on your computer, and zap it’s on your iphone so you won’t miss it. FORGET iTunes and the arduous sync function for these type of tasks FOREVER!!! YAY
