Thinking, Should i sign up for iCloud? - How to set up for iCloud

When you start your iOS 5.0 device for the first time you will be asked a series up set up questions. Apart of this is signing up for iCloud.

Sign Up, you will be so stocked with the additional simplicity it gives you, simplicity you might not even have know already existed in another format which was MobileMe.

Read my post on How to change from Mobile me to iCloud if you already have a MobileMe account.

iCloud is free for upto 5GB of data. WOW that’s loads.

iCloud allows you to store the following ‘in the cloud’ which means ‘on the internet’ a term we’re all surly going to get better acquainted with now.

-          Mail

-          Contacts

-          Calanders

-          Reminders (new)

-          Bookmarks for Safari

-          Notes

-          Photos

-          Documents & Data

-          As well as track your device with ‘Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod

That’s kinda cool right? Well I tell you what makes it really darn cool. You can connect all of your devices to the same iCloud device, and it keeps them all in Sync. Sounds very peaceful right J

IT IS

I have used the old ‘version’ of iCloud which is MobileMe for a few years now for this priviledge. I was charged for and that’s why you may not know about it, or havn’t used it. Now iCloud is free up to 5GB. That is awesome.

Examples for use:

Add a contact on your iPhone when you’re out – and it will automatically add to your other devices including your contacts on your computer. I use outlook and they appear there automatically, very nice!

Create an important meeting on your computer in outlook after a conversation on the phone, and zip zap, it’s on your other devices, including your iPhone so you won’t miss a beat again.

Take a photo on your phone and open it on your ipad in seconds with photo stream.

Put important documents and data up there for safe keeping and use on all devices.

How will you use it?
